I'm Eric Imhauser. I make records, and I teach piano in your living room.
In the 1990s I produced, remixed and mixed dance records in Belgium. Today I record cover songs with a vocalist, and I teach adults and teens around McLean to play the songs they love, at their own piano.
A short bio
Music has been part of my working life for a long time. In Belgium in the 1990s I produced, remixed and mixed dance records, which is where I learned to listen closely and to care about time and feel.
These days I record cover versions of songs I love with a vocalist, and I teach piano in people's homes on weekday daytimes.
Why I teach this way
Records are built from chords, rhythm and a good ear, so that is where we start. You learn the chords of the song, you play it with the track, and you fix what is wrong while you can hear it.
Reading comes once your hands already know what the page is describing. I would rather you play Let It Be in month one and read it later than the other way round.
